Spin Weld Outlets

Spin Welded outlets are factory fitted additional BSP threaded outlets. These fittings have been introduced to replace fusion sockets as they are generally more robust, although still not as strong as a moulded-in metal insert. They are welded to the tank by spinning the fitting at high speed for a short period of time which fuses the fitting and tank together. In some cases spin welded outlets may be substituted by traditional fusion sockets due to manufacturing limitations.

Fittings using spin welded outlets should only be hand tightened and pipework should be supported and properly secured.
